Craft
Careful work in the Japanese tradition of making things well: reviewed, tested, built to last.
Craft Reliability Technology
Nipponj7tech is an IT company based in Kamakura, Kanagawa, about an hour south of Tokyo. We design, build and run software: custom systems, web and mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, and AI and data. Tell us what you are building, and you will be talking to the engineers who would build it.
Strategy
Kamakura is known for its cherry blossoms, and the sakura is our mark. It opens with five petals, and so does the way we work: five commitments of equal weight, none of which stands without the other four.
Careful work in the Japanese tradition of making things well: reviewed, tested, built to last.
Software that keeps running, and a team that keeps its word on scope and dates.
Modern tools chosen because they fit the problem, with AI where it earns its place.
We work alongside you, explain our decisions, and say so plainly when something is wrong.
Engineers who stay curious, keep learning, and take ownership of what they ship.
01 · What we do
Most projects begin with one of these and grow into the others. The same team carries the work across all six.
Custom systems built around how your business works, from a first version to the modernisation of code that has run for years.
Design, migration and day-to-day operation of the servers and services your software depends on.
Websites and apps your customers can use without thinking about it: fast, accessible, and tested on real devices.
Language-model and data systems grounded in your own information, with results you can check and measure.
An outside read on the system you have: what to keep, what to replace, and what each choice is likely to cost.
The repetitive middle of an operation handed to software, so your people can spend their time on the part that needs judgement.
02 · Why us
Not a vendor you brief and forget. A team that stays with the system it built, and is straightforward with you about it.
The engineers who plan your project are the ones who write it and look after it afterwards. Nothing is lost in a hand-off, because there is no hand-off.
You hear from us regularly and in plain words: what was done, what comes next, and anything that has changed. No surprises saved for the end.
We treat a defect as something to prevent rather than something to catch later. Tests, reviews and documentation are part of the work, not an extra.
03 · Approach
You see something real early, and you always know where the work stands.
Before proposing anything we look at the current system and talk to the people who use it. You get a straight account of what to keep, what to change, and what we would do first.
Something running beats something planned. We put a working version in front of you early, see how it behaves with real data and real users, and grow it from there.
Release day is the middle of the job, not the end. We keep operating and improving what we built, which is how a system goes on earning its keep.
04 · Stack
Chosen because they are well understood, not because they are new. If what you run is not on this list, tell us anyway: a lot of work begins inside an existing codebase.
05 · Company
Nipponj7tech is based in Kamakura, a coastal city in Kanagawa Prefecture, roughly fifty kilometres south-west of central Tokyo and about an hour from it by train. It is a city of temples, hills and the sea, and a calm place to do careful work.
What we do is straightforward: we design software, build it, and keep it running. Being close to Tokyo keeps us near Japan's technology industry; working online lets us take on projects wherever the client happens to be.
We are taking on new projects. If you have a system that needs building, rebuilding, or simply looking after, we would like to hear about it.
06 · FAQ
What people ask us before the first call.
Send the problem through the form, or take a thirty-minute slot in the calendar, whichever suits you. The first conversation is only to understand what you need and to work out whether we are the right people for it. If we are not, we will say so.
Yes, and often that is the better shape. We can join your repositories, your review process and your regular meetings, and work as part of the team rather than as a separate group that hands something over at the end.
We are in Kamakura, Kanagawa, about an hour from central Tokyo. Most of our work and all first conversations happen online, so distance is not an obstacle.
